Frequently Asked Questions
What do the Pilates mat sessions entail?
I teach a movement-based style of pilates that connects each pose to the next. This pilates style encourages stretching, strength training and cardio exercise. During the session, you can expect to receive verbal cues and physical adjustments to guide you through a series of about 20-25 poses.

What is your teaching style?
My teaching style is demonstrative, energetic, and movement-focused.  I specialize in core stability, flexibility, and functional fitness.

How often should I practice Pilates?
Two to three times a week is recommended. When practiced faithfully, the benefits of pilates may include a refreshing mind-body workout, decreased stress, development of strong core muscles, improved posture and strength, and increased flexibility and agility.

What should I wear during a Pilates session?
I am often asked this question and the answer is that you should wear whatever you feel comfortable working out in. A t-shirt and shorts or a tank top and yoga pants. Whatever you find comfortable and allows you to move easily.

Can I do Pilates if I am pregnant?
Generally, pilates is great during pregnancy. However, if you had never done pilates before becoming pregnant, we advise that you wait until after the baby is born and you are cleared by your doctor for exercise.
